Portrait of a Hunter

On this pic, I was trying to teach myself how to do a more realistic digital painting. I like the way she turned out, except for her hair. I am still trying to figure hair out. Also, the shading needs work and I am clueless on backgrounds. Lol. If anyone has any tips/pointers/advice/words of wisdom, I would gladly welcome them.
